Before You Begin
- Make sure your username has been updated to the new format: username@mbay.net
- If your email address uses a different domain (like barney@flintstones.com), use that domain instead of mbay.net
- Verify your username and password work by logging into the webmail at https://webmail.mbay.net

Setting Up Email on iPhone
Step 1: Access Mail Settings
- Tap on the Settings app on your iPhone home screen
- Scroll down and tap on Mail
Step 2: Add Your Account
- Tap on Accounts
- Tap on Add Account
- Tap on Other at the bottom of the list
- Tap on Add Mail Account
Step 3: Enter Your Account Information
- Fill in your account details:
- Name: Your full name
- Email: Your full email address (e.g., yourname@mbay.net)
- Password: Your email account password
- Description: A name for this account (e.g., "Work Email" or "MBAY.NET")
- Tap Next
Step 4: Choose Account Type
- Select either IMAP or POP (IMAP recommended)
Step 5: Configure Incoming Mail Settings
For IMAP (recommended):
- Enter the following details:
- Host Name: mail.mbay.net
- Username: Your full email address (e.g., yourname@mbay.net)
- Password: Your email account password
- Use one of these security/port combinations:
- Port: 143 with Security: STARTTLS
- Port: 993 with Security: SSL
For POP3:
- Enter the following details:
- Host Name: mail.mbay.net
- Username: Your full email address (e.g., yourname@mbay.net)
- Password: Your email account password
- Use one of these security/port combinations:
- Port: 110 with Security: STARTTLS
- Port: 995 with Security: SSL
Step 6: Configure Outgoing Mail Settings
- Enter the following details:
- Host Name: mail.mbay.net
- Username: Your full email address (e.g., yourname@mbay.net)
- Password: Your email account password
- Use one of these security/port combinations:
- Port: 587 with Security: STARTTLS
- Port: 465 with Security: SSL
- Make sure Authentication is set to Password
- Tap Save in the upper right corner
Step 7: Choose Mail Options
- Select which data you want to sync (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.)
- Tap Save
Step 8: Verify Setup
- Open the Mail app
- Check that your emails are syncing properly
Updating an Existing Account
If you need to update an existing account:
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts
- Select your existing mbay.net account
- Tap on Account > SMTP (for outgoing mail) or Advanced (for incoming mail)
- Update the server settings as detailed above
- Tap Done to save your changes
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues after setup:
- Verify all server names and ports are correct
- Make sure your username includes the full email address
- Check that your password is entered correctly
- Try both security options (STARTTLS or SSL)
- Ensure your internet connection is working properly
